I wish I had cooked my bacon like this a long time ago. I would have avoided many times of being shot at by random grease splatters on me and the surrounding area. Not to mention the lingering smell it leaves after you’ve cooked it! If you’ve been cooking your bacon in a frying pan on the stove top this is the tip for you…

Line a cookie sheet with foil making sure it overlaps the sheet and lay bacon slices on the pan so they don’t touch. Put the pan in a cold oven and turn it to 400. Set a timer for 15 minutes. When the timer goes off, check the bacon. It should be golden brown, but not super crispy but it may take as long as 20 minutes, depending on the thickness of your bacon.

Remove from oven carefully. I prefer to buy bacon in bulk and cook at one time for use later on. To do this cool bacon completely and store in baggies in the freezer or an airtight container in the fridge for several weeks. One tablespoon crumbled bacon is equal to one slice. Big bonus: you house won’t smell like bacon for the rest of the day and it doesn’t make a mess in the oven.
