The Zinnia Bed

Zinnias are such bright, cheerful flowers.

They are not a flower that I’ve grown in the past.

I started seeing them online, and they peaked my interest.

So this Spring I planted a package of seeds.

It must have been “beginner’s luck”.  They did so well.

They are very easy to grow and are a great cut flower.

Zinnias will definitely be in my garden from now on.

The Story of the Bed:  One weekend we were on our way to our favourite little spot in the country.  It must have been “clean up week”, as people had lots of garbage out.  I happened to spot this metal bed at the end of a driveway “on the pile”.  😉  Hubby hauled it out of their pile and it went into our shed in the country for 2 years.  This year the footboard is all freshly painted and decorating the zinnia bed!  The headboard is leaning against our red shed!  I will show you one day!

Anyone else growing these pretty things?

I’d love to have some tips on growing them.

Holly - I love Zinnias and Dahlias as well. They are beautiful in bouquets especially wedding boquets.

Lisa - Pretty flowers (and great use of that footboard) – I love that there are so many varieties…
I don’t have Zinnias planted. But tried Dahlias this year – three colors, two varieties. :)
