Do you want a yummy and quick homemade dessert that doesn’t have you spending lots of time in a hot kitchen this summer? This IS the recipe for you! Simple to make and can easily be modified to suit your tastes.
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, melted
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup coconut
1 cup peanut butter chips
1 1/4 cups crisp rice cereal
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup candy-coated chocolate candies
Preheat oven to 340. Spray 13 x 9 baking pan with non-stick spray. Pour melted butter in pan. Sprinkle graham crumbs evenly over butter. Pour condensed milk over crumbs. Sprinkle with coconut, peanut butter chips, cereal, chocolate chips and candies. Press down gently on candies. Bake 25-30 minutes or until top just begins to brown. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Makes 24 bars.
TIPS: This recipe calls for peanut butter chips and I have a son with nut allergies so I used butterscotch chips instead. There are many options for candy coated chocolate candies, such as M&M’s. You can also use chocolate Oreo crumbs instead of graham crumbs. My oven took 30 minutes.
