A new chip off the old block. White chocolate chips peek through this dark chocolate cookie. Scrumptious! Also, one recipe with endless possibilities. Instead of white chocolate chips, use other chips such as milk chocolate, mint chocolate, butterscotch or peanut butter.
1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup cocoa
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup white chocolate chips
Cream margarine and brown sugar in a large bowl. Add cocoa, beat well. Add egg and vanilla, beat until smooth.
Combine flour, soda and salt in small bowl. Add to margarine mixture. Mix until no dry flour remains.
Add white chips, mix well. Bake 350 for 10-12 minutes. Let stand on cookie sheet 5 minutes before movie to racks to cool.
TIPS: My oven took 10 minutes. I also double the batch when I make it. 1 cup chips is just over a one bag, I use the whole bag.
