Spring Centerpiece

We had a family dinner last night.  One of those occasions when all the kids are able to be there.  The girls both had the day off and could come over and some extended family too.  I wanted a “Springy” table.  So I put together this quick and easy centrepiece.  Everyone is so desperately hoping for Spring to arrive soon.  We know in our hearts it is coming, but our heads see yet another dusting of snow and wonder if it is coming THIS YEAR!

To imitate a runner, I put four decorative place mats in a row down the center of the table.   Then I placed my treasured piece of barn board from hubby’s grandparents old barn, along with a pitcher of tulips.  Does anything say Spring quite like tulips?  I don’t think so.

I love bird houses.  I used several on my mantel this Spring.  This little one has been a few different colours.  I keep changing the paint colour to suit my taste.  It only takes a minute!  😉  Aren’t my little cast iron birds the cutest?  They were a gift from my mom.  She found them in a store called The Wild Lily .  Such a great little store.

Debbie @Dewdrop Gables - I love the barn board down the middle, it’s perfect! And anything with birds is wonderful in my books. I agree, hard to think of spring when we are so deep in snow still.

Sheila Zeller - I love tulips any time of the year, and just wish I could make them last longer! They are one of my favorites, especially now when you know Spring really is on its way. Love what you did with the barn board, another favorite for me, and I really love that it came from your hubby’s grandparents barn. That’s pretty awesome! Happy Spring, Tanya!!!
